PAPER
The
paintings on paper numbered 1 through 6 are examples of my interest in creating
visual spaces that bring together both abstract and representational elements.
The remaining images in this gallery represent a new collage series entitled
“Paper Constructions.” Forging into a new series is often both challenging and exciting; the artist has to find her own way while balancing both technique and ideas. With “Paper Constructions,” I
decided to work on a smaller scale to encourage feelings of intimacy.
The pieces of paper that I use for the
actual collage work are quite varied: old, new, cut, torn… whatever catches my
eye and seems to hold some sense of possibility… some papers are found, others
are prepared in some way by my own hand.
The process is like solving a puzzle with no boundaries!
